JONCRYL 821 is a carboxyl functional solid grade acrylic resin that when reacted with a bis-phenol A epoxy displays all of the performance advantages associated with acrylic hybrid technology. These advantages over traditional polyester hybrid chemistry include superior QUV stability, excellent chemical resistance, and excellent hardness while matching the flexibility of a polyester film. In addition, JONCRYL 821 epoxy hybrids produce excellent low gloss coatings that are frequently more economical than polyester or epoxy based low gloss systems. JONCRYL 821 was specifically designed for use in applications where appearance is critical. This is the first acrylic hybrid resin that matches the appearance of a polyester hybrid while maintaining the performance benefits described above. Additional benefits of JONCRYL 821 in acrylic hybrid formulations include optimized detergent resistance and better color stability compared to JONCRYL 819.
